Clear the Air Now, LLC has developed and patented a device that wirelessly connects to garage door openers and generators. When elevated levels of carbon monoxide are detected in an enclosed space, the device will open a closed garage, and/or shut off a running car, and/or power off a generator. Carbon monoxide poisoning causes thousands of deaths and emergency room visits each year, our device would be instrumental in eliminating these accidental poisonings.
Our mission is not only to bring this product to market to help save lives, but also to raise awareness of the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning. Many people know that carbon monoxide poisoning will cause death or serious injuries, but because it is odorless and colorless not many people understand how easy it can happen or how frequently it does happen.
Generator companies and garage door opener manufacturers need to take corporate responsibility for their products. All companies, not only ones dealing with carbon monoxide, need to stop waiting for laws to be passed, or people to die, to start doing what is right. There is NOW technology that can save peoples lives just sitting, waiting to be used, but instead, companies ignore them, until they HAVE to use them. Until it's mandated by law, it always seems companies worry more about the bottom line, then increasing the safety of thier product.
